Today the children reviewed what we do before we read (look at the cover for clues about the story, characters, and setting) and were challenged to do some predicting as we did our book looks (picture walks). The children learned that great readers have to think and predict as they are reading in order to enjoy the story and connect to the author's message. As an incentive to help us do our most careful reading and book looking we were able to use reading spectacles!
