We are finishing up our unit on addition and subtraction and have begun to notice some mathematical "rules" that make learning math "cool"...yes, the rhyming helps them (and me) remember and recall these amazing new learnings.

The kids have amazed me with their grasping of the talk/talk back concept in reading. We are now half way through our prompts for what to say when we are reading/reflecting and how to talk back about a book with a partner. They have learned visual signals as well to help cue me (and you) when reading. Ask them tonight how they "notice" (touch eye), "wonder" (touch chin), "feel" (hold heart), "think" (tap head), "predict" (lightbulb motion). Please continue to read with your child and encourage him/her to share his/her thoughts/noticings/etc as you explore books together.
